Microsoft are giving out grants or $5k, $10k or $15k for Azure resource credits on AI for Earth projects. We’re listed on their Partner Pledge for ethical computing which leads on to this.
All that’s needed is access to a labelled dataset, ie we are not trying to achieve unsupervised Machine Learning ML, but apply a pipeline process to relevant categorised data on the cloud (although that can lead on to predicting labels / categories of new data). Basically using an offer like our Azure MLOps platform package offered at a budget fixed price. Combine that with the free Azure credits, and you have a big contribution to the project.
So if you have an environmental dataset in the 4 focus areas below, and you want to get free computing for, drop us a line.
1. Climate
From natural weather to man-made pollution, climate change threatens our world and health.
AI can predict trends and impact for more accurate forecasting.
2. Agriculture
Feeding the planet is becoming trickier to balance all the factors, even as advances are made in growth and technical knowledge.
AI can monitor farming for management and insights.
3. Biodiversity
Extinction and rundown of species often has detrimental effects across the whole ecosystem.
AI can accelerate the discovery, monitoring and protection of this biodiversity.
4. Water
Demand of fresh water is likely to outstrip supply over the next two decades.
AI can help manage and preserve this precious and easily wasted resource.
